I first discovered Lace Brick Design at a local market put on by women for women awhile back. As a mountain girl, I was immediately attracted to the LBD products. Shortly after, I began following the brand on social media and became part of the Ponytail Posse. The values of LBD and the community that?s been created is an amazing thing. I was inspired to apply for the Lace Brick Design Trailblazer Ambassador Search because I want to influence other women to get out and explore, while helping to grow a local brand that I believe in.

I come from a household of inspiring women. My mom was a single mother raising my older sister and I, financials were a constant struggle, but she worked hard and always managed to provide for us. One summer we lived out of an old tent trailer at a campground because we didn't have a house. We had so much fun that I didn't even know until I was older that we didn't have any other choice at the time. Perhaps this is where my love of camping comes from? And my sister is a total boss babe, a founder and owner of her own successful marketing and social media company. Both of these women have been a huge factor in my work ethic and adventurous, fun spirit.
Do you have a favorite recipe, playlist, hike restaurant, or go-to secret gem where you live? Tell us about it!
I love to cook (and eat!) but I usually dedicate one day a week to meal prepping and cooking for my whole week. Because I am always on the go, this works so well for me. Keeps me eating healthy and is super budget friendly. I have a slight addiction to smoothie bowls for breakfast at the moment. They are pretty to look at, easy to make, and are jam packed with nutrients. On the flip side I have an addiction to coffee, bordering on unhealthy, but we all have our vices right?
What does being a fearless female mean to you?
A Fearless Female is someone who believes in who she is and her abilities, and uses these abilities to positively inspire other women. She is a problem-solver, an innovator, a storyteller, a role model.

I love LBD and when I saw that they were looking for new ambassadors I figured I should apply, since I try to live in the mountains as often as I can, and I find the apparel and the lifestyle so inspiring.

One time I was hiking Heart Mountain with a friend and we were SO close to summiting, but it was early May so there was still plenty of snow on the mountain, and my friend's dog was having a hard time getting up over the rocks, so we were lifting him up to get him over and the snow gave out from underneath my feet and I slipped and slid about 20 feet down the side of the mountain, on my back, and I now have a scar across my ribs on my right side, so I'm going to get the outline of the mountain tattooed over the top of it.

My favourite restaurant right now is Famoso in Red Deer, their food is delicious and super authentic! They have the option to create your own pizza too which is super cool, since you see the whole kitchen from the restaurant and you can watch them toss the dough and everything. It's a really cool place with a super neat atmosphere!
What does being a fearless female mean to you?
Being a fearless female means being able to take a deep breath and be your own person to conquer whatever stands in your path, but on your own terms. Sure, people can influence you but you do what YOU want at the end of the day. You can count on yourself and you're not concerned about having anyone else to lean on at the end of the day, unless you choose to do so.

I LOVE the Alpine Necklace. I have it in rose gold and I wear it EVERY DAY. I love always having a piece of the mountains with me, since they?re where I go to escape. If I ever feel stressed out or I'm having a bad day I know I can look at myself in the mirror and see those mountains around my neck and I can close my eyes and just breathe for a minute.

I had followed LBD for quite a while and always loved the product. But more importantly loved seeing the adventures taken by all the gals involved. Anything to do with exploring the mountains has my heart instantly. Love then genuine feeling Jackie presents in her business. When I saw there was a call for new Ambassadors I wanted to give it a try just to be able to meet another group of likeminded women who love and appreciate the same things I do.

I always find these kinds of questions hard! When I started chatting to my friend about it she said why don't you tell them about your overabundance of tapping and leg shaking that makes me feel like my house is shifting? (Its very true I cannot sit still ever as I sit here and type this my foot is tapping away! A story with some irony While I love everything and anything outside and the mountains. I do not ski or snowboard anymore. I grew up going to Marmot and a little local spot close to home..When I was 15 I took a tumble coming off a hard run on the hill down to the chalet. While it was a fluke fall I couldn't do the million dollar movements ski patrol asked me to do. You know wiggle your toes and fingers. I ended up being taken to the hospital and from there had a fancy airplane ride to Edmonton. I wound up with a bad concussion, loss of feeling in my fingers and toes for a while, broken wrist and permanently fractured vertebrae in my lower back. I often think maybe I will go back, but would just be happy if they would just let me go up the chairlifts and do some picture taking and then ride back down! I am really lucky nothing too terrible came out of it and still get to do everything I love to do Just haven't braved those downhill activities again.

Oh so many things!I will listen to almost any music you want! But I am a country girl at heart. On my many very long day trips a good playlist is a must. Always searching for the best place to have brunch or a good pizza! Anyone have any suggestions!? If you are ever in Spruce Grove there is a little Local Place called The Loft! Go for their breakfast buffet. You will not be disappointed. I love a good Mom and Pop place. I live in Stony Plain and I have to say there is a little park down by the river that isn't too busy and you can walk along there forever. It?s a great spot to go get some fresh air and clear your head. One of those little local gems not a lot of people know about!
What does being a fearless female mean to you?
Today's society brings a lot of different social pressures for everyone but I think a lot more for women. Being a "fearless female" for me means going out and getting/doing what you want despite whatever may be scaring the S*** out of you to prevent it. Fears are unavoidable. But be that gal who stares it in the eyes and smiles. Being that woman that embraces her own identity despite what the "expectation" is. Independence and Confidence all while still remaining genuine and kind and supporting your fellow gals along the way. Putting out nothing but good vibes. xo

EEEEEKKKKK ?. One favorite thing ? Okay I will have to go with my Alpine necklace. While I luckily get to the mountains quite often it?s just that little reminder of my happy place. I get comments on it all the time! I received it as a birthday gift for my 30th from a good friend who knows me all too well and haven?t taken it off since.

What inspired me to apply was that I love what Lace Brick Design represents, how it encourages woman to be adventurous, and empowers an outdoor lifestyle. An interesting quirk that makes me who I am is my height! (Haha). It's something people never forget about me, but it never stops me from doing anything.Being 4'11" and petite people always think I am younger then I am. I always get the comment you're so tiny and little, how do you do that? Even though I look little I love pushing my limits and challenging myself. I definitely can say I have a big personality in a petite body. People also say that my contagious laugh is one of a kind!

Living in Maple Ridge B.C. I feel pretty lucky because there are mountains all around me in every direction. However, my favorite hike is in Whistler B.C which is a bit of a drive but the drive itself is beautiful and full of scenery. The hike is called panorama ridge in garibaldi provincial park. It is definitely a challenging hike, one that I love to conquer at least once a year because the view makes it all worth it. After I do a day hike you can find me at my favorite local restaurant the "Billy Miner" stuffing my face with "Billy fries" (aka poutine with pulled pork) Got to love those carbs ;)
What does being a fearless female mean to you?
To me a fearless female is someone who is true to herself, doesn't change for anyone, and isn't afraid of being who she is. She is always willing to tackle any excursion, life decision, and make it an adventure regardless of its obstacles. She is strong, independent, knows her abilities, and always up for a challenge.

I'm in love with the mountain girl mug!! I love using my mug when camping, there's just something about being in the mountains enjoying the fresh air with a nice hot cup of coffee or hot chocolate. For me, sharing a cup of something hot after a hike is always a nice way to be able to chat with friends or my husband about previous trips and plan new adventures. Plus, it goes great with the mountain girl tank ;)

I first came across LBD at a craft market a few years ago when LBD was quite small and selling primarily jewelry. I am a fan of local businesses and was immediately drawn in by the mountain themed items as well as Jackie's friendly and approachable personality. Since then, whenever I am at a market, I make sure to stop by the LBD booth - it has been so neat to see the growth of the business over the past few years! Fast for-ward to this year when my friend suggested I should apply for LBD's Trailblazer Ambassador search for the spring collection. I love being outside exploring, which fits the essence of the LBD brand. I am also appreciative that LBD has taken a focus on being a "local girl" brand and has made their Trailblazer Ambassador search accessible to other local girls. I feel honoured to have been chosen as a Lace Brick Design Trailblazer Ambassador and look forward to helping promote the LBD brand!

Friends know me as a runner and I come from a running background: my whole family runs! When I moved out to Calgary six years ago, it was how I met two of my closest friends. When I started working, it was how I made connections with colleagues I was invited to join a team to run the Banff Jasper Relay, and then Sinister 7. When I started dating my boyfriend, our love of the trails was one of the first things we connected over he is an avid mountain biker and I have transitioned from the roads to be an avid trail runner. During the summers we head out on a weekly basis to "Brun" or Bike-Run the trails in Bragg Creek. We even have races, and I am still waiting for him to beat me! Regardless of the season, you can usually find me running around somewhere outside!

One of my favourite summer time activities in the Canadian Rockies is backcountry camping! Having only started backcountry camping three summers ago, I still have many hikes on my to do list however a definite highlight is the Rockwall Trail in Kootenay National Park. This trail brings you to the stunning Floe Lake and Numa Pass, which are two places I could return to over and over again! There is something about the simplicity of basic day to day tasks in the backcountry that I am drawn to. :)
What does being a fearless female mean to you?
I've always been drawn to the phrase work hard, play hard and to me, being a fearless female means playing hard! It means setting yourself up with some big (sometimes intimidating) goals and working hard to achieve them! It means not allowing doubts or fears hold you back, but instead using them to fuel you forwards, to push your boundaries and pursue your passions!

I was gifted the Mountain Girl sweater this past Christmas from my boyfriend, which I LOVED. We just got really into hiking this past summer, and I see myself as a true mountain girl! If I could be in the mountains every day, I would be! Thank goodness Calgary is so close. Once I saw the Trailblazer Ambassador search post, I knew I had to apply since I trailblaze quite often!!

One of my main hobbies and passions is eating, but also getting creative in the kitchen. My dream one day is to open a restaurant (completely unrelated to what I do now a Graduate degree in Chemistry), and I would love to serve healthy food that is also cruelty-free. I am currently making note of all the recipes I try and make myself to feature one day in my dream restaurant!

SO many favorites! My favorite recipe I have made so far are my black bean brownies! Aside from that, I make a mean tofu scramble and mac n cheeze. In terms of music, I love a mix of rap, R&B, pop, and dance. My favorite restaurant is Heart's Choices, by far! In terms of hikes, my favorite so far is King's Creek Hike, but closely followed by the Iceline Trail. The best views from the hikes I've done so far go to Fairview though!
What does being a fearless female mean to you?
Jumping out of your comfort zone ALL THE WAY. Getting comfortable with the uncomfortable! Also trying new things and keeping an open mind.

There are so many beautiful places to go here in Fort St John, I spend a lot of time on the rivers here adventuring. There is a ton of beautiful hiking trails around here as well overlooking amazing views.

Being a fearless female means putting yourself out there. Going on that trip. Hiking up that mountain to see the view from the top. Getting yourself out of your bubble and doing what you've always been scared to do and lifting up other fearless females in the process.

2 years ago I began my weight loss journey and went on to lose over 50 lbs in one year. Losing the weight opened up a whole new world of adventure for me. I was able to hike mountains and run in races, things I never thought were possible before. I am happy to say now 2 years later than I managed to keep the weight off and I am currently training to run my first half marathon this May!

My husband and I love to go exploring and get lost in the forest in Kimberley B.C. with our two dogs.But personally my favorite place is the back pasture at Butterfield Acres where I used to work. I love going for walks, tractor rides, camp outs, cook outs and visiting the hidden pond. However, the absolute best time to go is in autumn, when all the leaves have changed colour and just before they start to fall off the trees.

A fearless female is someone who isn?t afraid to push themselves to be their best self. She is not scared to stand up, speak out, and show who she truly is.

I've been following the brand for quite awhile now and have seen the connection between LBD and so many badass, inspiring adventure women and I want to be one of those women! It's not just ladies wearing awesome nature inspired clothing and accessories, but it's ladies wearing them while summiting mountains and exploring forests and paddling serene mountain lakes. I love that the brand has done so much more than creating a product, but has created a whole community of amazing women in the Ponytail Posse!

I'm a craft junkie, you name it and I've probably tried it (and have all the materials sitting around collecting dust). I love creating and trying new things and currently have probably 6-60ish unfinished projects that I rotate between working every time one gets boring. My current venture is creating nature themed wall hangings and nursery mobiles, which has been super fun and a wonderful challenge.

In downtown Red Deer there is a little cocktail bar called To The Lost that serves the most incredible drinks in an intimate, comfortable atmosphere. This is my husband and my go-to date night location. The bartenders are not only incredibly talented (like, award winning talented!) but also some of the most down to earth and friendly folks around. If you ever find yourself in the area I highly recommend checking them out and ordering yourself a Bourbon for Apples, tell them Erika sent you ;).
What does being a fearless female mean to you?
A fearless female is not without all fears (everyone is afraid of something), but she doesn't let her fears define her or hold her back. To be fearless is to recognize your doubts, insecurities and uncertainties and find a way to push past and achieve your goals.

This past year for my Mom's birthday I bought her and I matching geo mountain necklaces. Growing up my mom always wanted to hike but I usually opted out because I developed arthritis in my knees at a pretty young age (and was lazy) and it hurt so I wasn't interested. It wasn't until many years later that I discovered how amazing hiking is and how it?s worth pushing through some pain for the splendor of mountain views that cannot simply be seen from the car (don't get my wrong, those are also great views!). Since I've come to my senses I've now had the pleasure of exploring more trails with my mom and the mountains have become a special place that we have enjoyed together so I wanted a symbol to represent that bond between her and I and the matching mountain necklaces were a perfect way to do so!Sarah Gregory

I have been following this amazing brand for a few years now, and it was great to see an opportunity to join the team. I think that LBD has bound together many inspiring women, and I'm honored to be a part of that. There is something so special about finding other like-minded women that gets me really excited. When my cousin tagged me in your post looking for trailblazers, I knew immediately that I was going to apply!

I love music and art! I play piano, clarinet, guitar, and am attempting to learn the mandolin. Although I'm not a master of any of these instruments, it's so much fun playing around and trying to teach myself. It's a creative outlet for me. I'm still growing my confidence in playing in front of other people, but I'm learning that it doesn't matter if you're "good" or "bad" - people still share a connection through music.

Living in Canmore, there are so many places nearby to adventure to, but my all time favourite place to go is out in Kananaskis along highway 40. I have a secret spot that I found one day that overlooks the river with a the stunning backdrop of the Rockies. I go here when I'm stressed, need some fresh mountain air, or just to clear my mind. Often I bring my guitar, watercolour paints, and a hammock. The nature and wildness of the space gives me the exactly the type of energy that my soul needs to recharge. I've shared this space with a few people before and it has always been special!
What does being a fearless female mean to you?
Being a fearless female to me means standing up for what you believe in and chasing your dreams. A quote I often think about is: "There is only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving at any given time, and that's your own self".I think that being surrounded by inspiring people (and companies such as LBD) inspires me to be fearless in always improving myself. It takes courage to work on yourself, and being a fearless female is the perfect term for that.

So hard to pick only one product, but I am IN LOVE with your adventure bags! When I was chosen as an LBD Trailblazer, I was excitingly showing my boyfriend all of your goods, pointing out that my birthday (7 months away haha), wasn't thaaaat far away ;). His first response to the bag that I'm in love with was, "We need that bag by our front door to fill with everything we need to go on mini evening adventures when we have nothing else to do!". This opened up a whole conversation of our favourite places to have campfires, snack to bring, etc. etc. etc.![

To be part of a team where you can grow and learn from one another while sharing so many of the same interests is something that I wanted in my life. Everything that LBD believes in, I do to. It was the perfect fit for me.

I have this tendency that when I get a crazy idea in my head, I will do anything to achieve it. I once went all "Eat, Pray, Love" and wanted to do yoga in Bali and next thing I knew a few months later, I was on a plane with my then boyfriend/now husband heading to Bali. When I say, I?m going to climb that mountain or I'm going to run this 5k or do an obstacle race, no matter how absurd I think it is? I'll do it.

I am seriously so obsessed with Kananaskis. Sarrial Ridge has been my favourite hikes so far. You're able to see Rawson Lake at the bottom and once you get to the top you're overlooking both Upper and Lower Kananaskis Lake and the Kananaskis Range. It's mesmerizing!
What does being a fearless female mean to you?
To me, being a fearless female is learning to love yourself first. By taking care of your mind and body, all other aspects of your life can fall into place. You'll learn to gain confidence in your goals which will lead you to be able to crush them! And always give power and strength to other women. We're all in this together and should always be a team.

It would have to be what got me hooked with LBD.. My friend sent me a link and said, "I don't think I've seen a sweater more you". Turns out it was Ponytails & Mountain Trails. That lead to my first purchase! Messy buns are sort of my thing and you'll always catch me on a trail in the mountains! It was meant to be!
